12/52 // Seattle

So, let's just take a moment to acknowledge how beautiful the state of Washington is. Living on the east side of the state, it sometimes seems like Seattle gets too much credit and is a little overrated. But I assure you, it's not.  There's just so much water... and mountains. Growing up in the midwest I never had much appreciation for anything nature-y or outside (except for the pool, of course), but the nature here has warmed me up to it's emerald self.

And the food... MMM! Seafood, Thai food, crepes, and fresh fruit.

Michael was photographer extraordinaire this trip (thanks babe!) so we did have a large number of coffee pics. We tried a new place called Storyville (one of their shops is 2 floors above the fruit vendors across the street from Pikes Place... after you buy your fresh flowers, GO GET COFFEE!).

The first time Michael and I went to Seattle with some friends we took the Ferry to Bainbridge Island. The views of the city are magical from the boat!

11/52 // Leavenworth, WA

With Michael's parents in town, we were able to take a trip westward, starting with Leavenworth.

We pulled off a few times during the drive over...

Most of what we did in Leavenworth was shop and eat... the weather (and view!!) was perfect.

(that's German Curry and Garlic and Onion Mustard on that brat!)

And then there were a few more stops as we continued west.

Our Own March Madness

March has been one of the craziest but enjoyable months for Michael and I... possibly ever.  We were blessed to have both of our families come out to visit this month, along with a dear friend of ours just before that. My overall feeling as we move into April is one of extreme exhaustion but also being extremely loved. Michael and I have some decisions coming up in the coming weeks and months that make my head spin to think about.  But this month was just a HUGE reminder of the support systems we have back home, and the familial love that isn't limited by mileage - this sense of security is really freeing as we look into what our next steps should be.

Our last group shots with each family.
Missing all of these lovely people.

10/52

Here we go week 10!

Michael has been filling his days with as much coffee as he can.  His primary job during the week has been providing more opportunities for him to improve his skill and implement some new ideas.  And on some of his weekends, he hosts coffee tastings at the Main Market Co-op in downtown Spokane.  If you every see him in there, stop by for some Evans Brothers coffee roasted in Sandpoint, ID!

My photos this week incorporate one of the best gifts I've ever received.  This quilt was made for my Grandpa Cumbie when he was a baby... him and my grandma had it backed later in life so it was really never used throughout the years.  They gave it to me as my bridal shower gift... I think that it may be the most beautiful thing I own.

9/52

6 days late, here we are.  I'm pretty sure that this week went from Monday to Friday and skipped all of the days in between...

Here's to lifeguarding back in the day.  And to Michael just looking fly as always.

See you tomorrow!

8/52

This month is full of lots of really great things.  But it is REALLY full of those great things.  If we are still doing the 52 project by the time April rolls around, nothing will be able to rock our game. Last week's biggest events included Michael's birthday (happy 23 baby!) and my bangs... that may give you an idea of the level of excitement that is normal in my life. ;)

7/52

Friends. The snow and cold has gotten a bit out of control this weekend. We chose an inside location for the pictures this week - luckily our favorite coffee spot has wonderful light.

But seriously, let's talk about this zebra tail...
Then on to one of our favorite local restaurants for shared lunch sandwiches.
Most of the above photos were taken by our best friend Liza.
Sundays are pretty wonderful around here.  Even when they're frigid.
