Merry Married Christmas

This year was the first Christmas that Michael and I have celebrated as a married couple -- and it has been quite an adventure.  We got back from the gloriously warm Houston last night, and have spent the day in bed... only getting up to go get pancakes with a few friends soon. :)

-- Christmas 2012 highlights --

A date at the Melting Pot - a tradition that we plan to keep throughout the years of children, family travels, etc.

New (and old) Christmas Music - this is our (at least my) new favorite Christmas song, Christmas in the Room

Decorations. Multi-colored lights hung around the living room would not have been my choice - but it's created a quirky, cozy Christmas atmosphere.  Those with an improv Christmas tree and homemade stockings, our halls were decked out!

Christmas Outside - a 30 second storm knocked out the power in Houston on Christmas day, so we spent a few hours outside in the 60 degree weather, eating cheese and crackers and watching the boys play soccer.  Such a great way to spend time with family!

Relaxing - everything about these couple of weeks have been exactly what we needed after the past few months.  We are praising God for the time that we have had together and with our families before Michael heads into his last semester and I pick up some more hours at work!

We hope that you all had a happy Christmas!

Firstly, hello.  And thanks for staying tuned.

All of the honeymoon catch ups below were so that I could stay caught up on the rest of this semester (starting with a Portland trip back in October) but instead it just stopped.  But hey, I just finished my Undergrad (what?) so of course now I will be able to blog every day ;) maybe.

After sorting through our wedding photos for about the 27th time (in deciding which ones to hang, trying to narrow down to 90 for the flip book, and 'to facebook or not to facebook' quandaries), I seem to find a new gem of an "accidental" picture each time.  They have become my favorite.  Here are a few.

Also, I realized the other day that I do not know how to smile for pictures anymore.  Michael blames it on the wedding.  I don't know if my cheeks will ever recover.

Seeing my dad for the first time that day.
I really like these two, and I think that is apparent in this photo
I think this is when the whole "we're finally married" feeling started to settle in
Grandpa Cumbie stole the hearts of many that day!
Docking(?) at the reception... I loved that we got to ride the boats! And that everybody got to ride boats!!
Overexposed... and happy to have gotten to this point in the day!
 Father and Son
Their love for each other (and for Michael and I) was apparent in everything they did.
So glad they were there.
(And only married 3 weeks in this photo!)
 John's wedding gift for Michael
And no, this picture was not an accident, but it is my favorite.
Michael's first look at me on June 23rd.
Isn't he handsome?
